Mr. Russell Allen Willard

Mr. Russell Allen Willard, age 76, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, July 31, 2015, at his home. Mr. Willard was born in Surry County on April 8, 1939 to Jerry Bernard and Mary Davis Willard. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila Willard, Carolyn and Tig Hegler, Brenda and Jeff Bowman; grandchildren; Sarah Abernathy, Emily Hegler, Courtney Hegler and Andrew Hegler; a brother, Robert Willard and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Willard was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia Payne; brothers, Dennis, R.J., Roger and Paul Willard. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, August 3, 2015 at Oak Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Alton Bledsoe. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday at the church one hour prior to the service.
