Mr. Sterling Rudolph Melton

Mr. Sterling Rudolph Melton age 80 of Cana, VA passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born July 27, 1933 in Carroll County, VA to the late Isaac Lawrence and Nina Combs Melton, He was a retired truck driver and was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are two sisters, Lannie Bond of Hillsville, VA, and Mozelle Felts of Cana, VA, two brothers, Virgil Melton, Fancy Gap, VA and Bobby Melton of Hillsville, VA, several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and several great nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Melton was preceded in death by three sisters, Beulah Felts, Connie Burcham and Carolyn Melton and two brothers, Ralph Melton and Melvin Melton. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, February17, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by Rev Dewey Felts. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday 12:30 pm until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home./
