Mr. Tom McMillian

Mr. Tom McMillian, 82, of Mount Airy, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 26, 2015, at his home. Mr. McMillian was born March 18, 1933, in Surry County, the son of the late Raleigh Franklin and Mary Susie Goins McMillian. Tom served our country in the United States Navy for two years. He retired as a supervisor from Proctor-Silex Inc. after 33 years of dedicated service. He is survived by his wife, Della Marie Johnson McMillian of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Danny Pack and Vonda McMillian and Jerry Jenkins, all of Mount Airy; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Gary McMillian, Ronald McMillian, Donnie and Alice McMillian, and Darrell and Jill McMillian, all of Mount Airy; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Junior McMillian of Mount Airy; the mother of his children, Rachael McMillian of Mount Airy; a brother-in-law, Leon Johnson of Mount Airy; a sister-in-law and her husband, Gracie and Loyd Tilley; and a special friend, Darren Goins of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. McMillian was preceded in death by two sons, Tommy Dean McMillian and Jerry Wayne McMillian; and two brothers, James Goins and Foster Martin. The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Jack Anderson officiating.
