Mr. Tommy Cleveland Cave

Mr. Tommy Cleveland Cave, age 76, of Dobson passed away on Tuesday October 7, 2014 in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on February 2, 1938 to the late Thomas and Bessie Hudson Cave. Mr. Cave was retired from Surry Telephone Company after more than thirty years of dedicated service and was a member of Union Cross Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of fifty three years, Mary York Cave, of the home; two devoted sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Angie Cave and Mark and Kathi Cave, all of Dobson; three beloved grandchildren, Joshua and wife Katie Cave, Sarah and husband Wesley Johnson and Hannah Cave, all of Dobson; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Johnson and Aaron Johnson of Dobson; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane and Jasper Bunker of Mount Airy and Cora Lee and Melvin Womble of Siler City; one brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Lee Cave of Harbinger. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cave was preceded in death by six brothers, Alexander, Richard, Ernest, Frank, Elwood and Jasper Cave; and three sisters, Launa Woodle, Mary Turlington and Jenny Heidenreich. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Central View Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Dennis Bledsoe and the Rev. Tony Holder with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday at Moody-Davis Funeral Home where his body will remain until time to be carried to the church to lie-in-state thirty minutes prior to the service.
