Mr. Tommy Dean McMillian

Mr. Tommy Dean McMillian, 53 of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Surry County on September 17, 1960 to Tom and Rachel Chaney McMillian. Mr. McMillian worked along with his mother, Rachel at her Pottery Shop as long as his health permitted. He is survived by his son, Tommy Dean McMillian, Jr.; a step-daughter, Candice Tenney and a step-son, Ricky Allen Cook, Jr.; four step grandchildren; his mother, Rachel Chaney McMillian; his father and step-mother, Tom and Marie McMillian; sisters, Kathy Pack and husband, Danny, Vonda McMillian; brothers, Gary McMillian and wife, Diane, Ronald McMillian, Donnie McMillian and companion, Alice Woods, Darrell McMillian and wife, Jill; several nieces and nephews; good friend, Marion "Chicken" Conley; and special dog, Rosco. The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, Rachel McMillian, 113 Marshall Farm Rd., Mt. Airy. There will be no formal service. Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
