Mr. Tony Curtis Phillips, age 61, of Elkin the loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Friday evening April 10, 2015 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry Co. on June 24, 1953 to Dorothy Wagner Phillips and the late Wendell Snow Phillips. He was a farmer and was a member of Light House Baptist Church in Boonville, NC. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force. He was a member of the CC Camp Fire Department and certified fire fighter. Tony was lovingly known to alot of children as "Pa Tony". Surviving is his loving wife of 38 years Donna Greenwood Phillips of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law Sandi and Todd Johnson of Boonville, Shannon and John Martin of Elkin; by two sons and daughter-in-law Kenneth Darren and Kay Greenwood of Elkin, Tony Jeffery Phillips of Elkin; by nine grandchildren Matthew Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Abraham (Bo) Phillips, Kaili Phillips, Hannah Greenwood; his adopted grandchildren Jonah Bragdon, Samuel Bragdon, Timothy Bragdon, Natalie Bragdon; his mother Dorothy Wagner Phillips of Elkin; one sister and brother-in-law Linda and Roger Miller of Ararat; one brother and daughter-in-law Arnold and Wenda Phillips of Elkin; by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by one brother Thomas Dale Phillips. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Light House Baptist Church in Boonville with burial to follow with in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Honor Guard Mount Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436. His body will remain at Moody-Davis until carried to the church to lie in state 30 Min. before the service. Rev. Roger Miller, Rev. Otis Hurst, and Rev. Bob Loving will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Sunday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Light House Baptist Church 4137 Sunset Dr. Boonville, NC 27011 or to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27017.
