Mr. Wade Woltz Puckett

Mr. Wade Woltz Puckett, 81 of Mt. Airy passed away at Golden Living Center Monday, August 24, 2015. He was born in Surry County on April 8, 1934 to the late Jesse Franklin and Lola Davis Puckett. Mr. Puckett was a gentle kind hearted man, loving father, grandfather and friend. He retired from Cross Creek Apparel - Russell Corp, although he will always be remembered for the many cattle he sold throughout the area. Mr. Puckett is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Paul Casstevens, Rita and Larry Horton and Vickie and Glenn Tate; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Riggans. In addition to his parents, Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Fredna Puckett; second wife, Betty Holt Puckett; a son, Dennis Wade "Bud" Puckett; a grandson, Jacob Puckett; sisters, Mary Bett Hawks, Laura Holder and Susie Coalson; brothers, Howard, Robert, Tom, Arless and George Puckett. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Vass officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
