Mr. Wallace Britt "Toot" Norman

Mr. Wallace Britt "Toot" Norman age 76 of Mt. Airy, NC went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, March 2, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Norman was born November 2, 1937 in Surry County to the late Arthur Edmond and Lettie Mosley Norman. Mr. Norman served honorably in the U.S. Airforce from 1956-1962. He was owner and operator of Norman's Auto Trim Shop for over 50 years. Mr. Norman was a faithful member of New Charity Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Frances Bond Hall Norman of the home a daughter and son-in-law Britta Amanda (Mandy) and Dustin Smithers of Mt. Airy, a step-daughter and son-in-law Donna and Hank Robertson of Mt. Airy, two step-sons and daughters-in-law Colin Douglas and Tracy Hall and Darrell and Jamie Hall all of Mt. Airy, six grandchildren Analeece Smithers, Adam Robertson, Jacob Hall, Stacy Hall, Caleb Hall and Sydney Hall, by one sister Mary Sue Golding of Mt. Airy by a nephew Stan Golding and by two nieces Janet Rodden and Angie MCEachran. In addition to his parents, Mr. Norman was preceded in death by a brother Dean Norman. Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 5, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Hank Robertson, Rev. Darrell Hall and Bro. Jacob Hall with burial to follow in the Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard Mt. airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436. The family will receive friends Tuesday night 6 to 8 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the compassionate and caring staff of the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home and to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy or to Darrell Hall, 771 Haystack Rd. Mt. Airy, NC. 27030 to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
