Mr. Walter Monroe Jones

Mr. Walter Monroe Jones, age 66 of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Golden Living Center. Mr. Jones was born in Surry County on September 15, 1945 to the late Jim Columbus and Rosella Fulk Jones. He was a "free spirit" and saw nearly every state. He was a retired truck driver. Surviving are sisters, Celia Mabe, Pansy Potts, Frances Odum and Rosie Chandler; brothers, Henry Jones, Lewis Jones, Denny Jones and Charles Jones all of Mt. Airy. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 27, 2012 Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Dale Hawks. Family and friends will be welcome at the home of Pansy Potts at 416 Junction St., Mt. Airy.
