Mr. Wilbur Edwards Turner

Mr. Wilbur Edwards Turner, age 81 of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Golden Living Center. Mr. Turner was born in Robeson County on August 7, 1931 to Grady and Addie Nance Turner. He served our country in the United States Army and was retired from The Winston-Salem Journal. Mr. Turner was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to so many who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving is his wife, Marie Edmonds Turner of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Michael McDaniel of Mt. Airy; grandsons, Jason McDaniel and Patrick McDaniel both of Mt. Airy; sisters, Mary T. Brown and Juanita T. Johnson both of Fairmont; a brother and two sisters-in-law, J. C. and Sharon Turner of Roseville, MI; and Patsy Turner of Cerro Gordo, sisters-in-law, Dorothy White, Ruby Newman and Mary Harvey all of Mt. Airy and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Turner was preceded in death by brothers, Gary Turner and Glenn Turner. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
