Mr. William Joseph "Pa Culler" Culler

Mr. William Joseph “Pa Culler” Culler, 95, of Ararat, VA passed away at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection on Monday, May 30, 2016. He was born in Patrick County, VA on June 8, 1920 to the late Rev. Dexter “D.J.” and Jenny Bowman Culler. Mr. Culler worked for many years at Mantel and Table Furniture before retiring from Henredon Furniture. Left to cherish his memories are his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Shelbin and Wanda Culler; grandsons and their wives, Stacey and Melissa Culler, Jamey Culler and Jamie Blackburn, William and Angie Culler; great grandchildren, Jessica, Adrianna, Miriam, Emily Caroline, Eli, Kattie and Grayson; a sister, Ruth Young; and many special cousins, nieces, nephews and best four legged friend, Maggie Mae Culler. In addition to his parents, Mr. Culler was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Bowman Culler; great grandson, Little Stacey Culler; sisters, Josie Felts, Margaret Bowman, Catherine Carpenter, Annie Felts; and a brother, Grant Culler and other infant siblings. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Henry Young Family Cemetery with Rev. Rickey Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Thursday from 12:00 PM until the time to leave for the service. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice, the staff on the West Wing of Blue Ridge Therapy Connection and the countless friends who visited and cared for “Pa Culler” during his illness.
