Mr. William Barry "Bill" Edmonds

Mr. William Bill Edmonds age 72 of 4489 Westfield Road, Mt. Airy, NC, husband of Mrs. Norma Cooke Edmonds passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 15, 1941 in Surry County to the late William Wade and Opal Felts Edmonds. Mr. Edmonds was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and was a friend to all. He was the owner and operator of Edmonds Mowing and Landscaping and was a member of Woodville Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Norma C. Edmonds of the home, a daughter and son-in-law, Tracie and Tim Horton, Mt. Airy, two grandsons, William Levi Hall of the home whom Bill treasured and loved as his own son and longed to see him graduate from college and fiancée, Rebecca George of Pilot Mountain, and Landon Edmonds Horton, Mt Airy, four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Linda and Robert Raasch, Brenda Edmonds, Faye Bingman and Debbie and Mike Worrell all of Mt. Airy, a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Dusty Edmonds, Belmont, and several "special nieces and nephews" whom he loved dearly.and a "special friend", Chad Brintle, Pilot Mountain. In addition to his parents, Mr. Edmonds was preceded in death by a son William Kevin Edmonds and two infant brothers, Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, December 9, 2013 at Woodville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Keith Love. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Sunday at Moody Funeral Home. The family would like to express a '"special thanks" to Tina Leonard for the excellent care and love given to Mr. Edmonds during his illness.
