Mr. William Leon Martin

Mr. William Leon Martin, age 76, of Stuart passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 at Carillion Memorial Hospital in Roanoke. He was born in Patrick County on April 27, 1939 to the late Anderson Martin and Stacy Fain Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Law, Virginia Martin; and two brothers, Edward and Albert Martin. Mr. Martin served in the U.S. Army and had retired from American Furniture after 51 years as a Supervisor.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Pauline Biggs Martin of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Dennie Thompson of Stuart; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Dianne Martin of Stuart; four grandchildren, Courtney Martin, Nick Martin, Kaelyn Thompson, Dylan Thompson; four sisters, Elizabeth Griffin of Chapel Hill, NC, Margaret Hiatt of Stuart, Linda Hopkins of Stuart, Kathy Bateman of Ridgeway; two brothers, Roy and Leonard Martin both of Stuart; several nieces and nephews; and his special babies, Chigger, Ozzy, Reese, and Koda.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Allan Vass officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
