Mr. William "Billy" Ernest Pendleton

Mr. William Ernest "Billy" Pendleton, age 73, of Laurel Fork passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015 at Twin County Hospital in Galax. He was born in Patrick County on Feb. 4, 1942 to the late Charles Jennings Pendleton and Vergie Mae Boyd Pendleton. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Mark Hanson Pendleton. Billy was a lifelong humanitarian and Education advocate. He loved his family and also loved feeding his birds and wildlife.

Surviving are his loving wife and companion of 52 years, Frances Smothers Pendleton of the home; one daughter, Angela Diane Pendleton of Greensboro, NC; one son and daughter in law, Ernest Lee and Cindy Pendleton of Stokesdale, NC; five grandchildren, Andrew Bryce Duncan and wife, Amy, Christine Elizabeth Duncan, Ariel Marie Pendleton, Nathaniel Lee Pendleton, Jeremiah James Pendleton; a special granddaughter, Jamila Gause; one sister and brother in law, Vera Faye and John Summers of Greensboro, NC; two brothers and sisters in law, Charles Kent and Janice Pendleton, Ray Bennett "Bennie" and Diane Pendleton all of Meadows of Dan; and several nieces and nephews.
