Mr. William Herbert Sexton, Jr

Mr. William Herbert Sexton, Jr. 50, of Ararat, NC passed away Monday, June 18, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mr. Sexton was born in Surry County on March 2, 1962 to Opal Sawyers Sexton and the late William Herbert Sexton, Sr. He was employed at Pike Electric Company for eighteen years and was a member of Pilot Mountain Community Church. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Misty and Mike Slate of Mt. Airy, Renee and Charlie Haney of Dobson; a son, Johnathan Mabe of Mt. Airy; five grandchildren, Kobe Slate, Kayson Slate, Issac Haney, Jaden Haney and Nolan Haney; his mother, Opal Sawyers Sexton of Mt. Airy; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Penny and Timothy Childress of Dobson, Cindy and Danny Norman of Pilot Mountain; one brother, Mark Wall of Pilot Mountain; special neighbors who were like his parents, Johnny and Geraldene Sawyers of Ararat, NC. In addition to his father, Mr. Sexton was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Sexton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Sawyers and Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Lawson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
