Mrs. Agnes Frances Taylor Vernon

Mrs. Agnes Frances Taylor Vernon age 92 of Mt. Airy, NC widow of Mr. Ulice Monroe "Bill" Vernon passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Willowbrook Healthcare Center in Yadkinville. She was born February 7, 1922 in Surry County, to the late Walter and Lelar Blanche Ball Taylor. She was a homemaker and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law; Gaye and Jerry Hicks of Yadkinville, and Pamela "Pam" Mills of Mt. Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Judy Vernon of Mt. Airy; five grandchildren and spouses, Sherry Stanley and Rocky of Lowgap, Donnie Rakes of Mt. Airy, Michelle Bottorff and Von of Mt. Airy, Misty Galyean and Robbie of Lowgap and Aaron Mills of Burbank, CA; eight great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Vernon was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ronnie "Ron" Mills; sisters, Kate Surratt, Mildred Owens and Annie Badgett; brothers, Bossie Taylor, Lester Taylor and Charlie Taylor; a special nephew, Paul Taylor. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Benfield and the Rev. Bill Faw officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 noon until time for the service at the church. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Willowbrook Healthcare Center, and to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliatives Care for the love and care given to their mother.
