Mrs. Alice Mae Simmons Mills

Mrs. Alice Mae Simmons Mills, age 69 of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, February 01, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Mills was born in Surry County on December 10, 1945 to Roy Johnny Simmons and Lolean Wilson Simmons Adams. She was a retired detention officer for Forsyth County Sheriff's Department and attended Peoples Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Ronnie Reeves of Dobson four grandchildren, Justin Reeves, of Dobson, Crissy Ransdell, Janet Mills and Robin Mills all of Mt. Airy, two great grandchildren Jordyn Ransdell and David Ray Ransdell both of Mt. Airy and a daughter-in-law Sharon Mills of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Willard Mills; a son, Larry Ray Mills and a sister, Lelia Horton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Peoples Church with services conducted by Rev. Eugene Brinkley with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night 6 to 8 P.M. at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC.
