Mrs. Alice D. Sheppard

Mrs. Alice Doss Sheppard, age 90 of Stuart, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on October 27, 1921 to the late Robert Joseph and Nannie Lou Corns Doss. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sheppard was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Sheppard; one daughter, Othelia Sheppard; four brothers, Riley, Marion, Clayton and Delano Doss; and one sister, Ellie Griffin.
Mrs. Sheppard is survived by one son and daughter in law, Raford and Linda Sheppard of Spencer; one daughter and son in law, Ilene and William Rorrer of Stuart; four grandchildren, Jimmy Sheppard, Kevin Rorrer and wife, Pam, Bobby Sheppard and wife, Misty, Cindy Rigney; two step grandchildren, Mike Fain and wife, Maria, Susan Edwards and husband, Ricky; twelve great-grandchildren; and one sister, Clara Mitchell of Stuart.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Mike Sands and Pastor Randy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7:30. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
