Mrs. Annie Pauline "Polly" Ayers Jones France, 81, of Willis Gap Road, Ararat, VA, widow of Mr. Fred Ray France passed away Sunday morning, November 23, 2014, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Mrs. France was born October 7, 1933, in Patrick County, VA, the daughter of the late George and Jessie Childress Ayers. Pauline retired from Kentucky Derby Hosiery and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She was a fabulous cook, strong willed and quick witted, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was a friend to all who knew her. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Penny Jones of Ivanhoe, VA and Michael "Mike" and Carol Jones of Cana, VA, 2 grandchildren, Allison Jones Young of East Bend, and Christy Annette Leupold and husband, Jason of Mt. Airy; three great grandchildren, Connor Dylan Young, Kylie Simmons and Alex Leupold, three sisters, Mary Willis of Mount Airy, and Lillian Scales and Betty Eaton, both of Ararat, VA and a special friend, Jim Thomas of Cana, VA. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. France was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Marshall and two brothers, Leonard Ayers and G.C. Ayers. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dennis "Bud" Cameron will be officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday 12:00-1:30 pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Kate B.
