Mrs. Annie Mae Beck Hutchens, 84, of Pinnacle passed away Sunday, August 09, 2015 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Surry County on February 10, 1931 to the late George W. and Ida Arnder Beck. Mrs. Hutchens worked in White Plains Baptist Church Day Care for many years before caring for the elderly. She was a faithful member at White Plains Baptist Church for over 50 years. Mrs. Hutchens is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Denise and J.D. Bennett and Janice Handy; three sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Kay Hutchens, Dean and Avis Hutchens and J.C. and Linda Hutchens; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Eva Bowman and Rachel Stanley; two brothers, Ivan and Raymond Beck; and one sister-in-law, Betty Beck; a special granddaughter and spouse, Nicole and David Grubbs; two great granddaughters, Sara Beth Grubbs and Ashley Denise Bennett; special nieces; Melody Allen, Sharon Moser, Melissa Beck and Barbara Beck. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hutchens was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Clifford Hutchens; a sister, Sara Dunn and six brothers, Wayne, James, Albert, Sterling, Roby and Albert Beck. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Tucker and Pastor Tim Crotts officiating. Burial will follow in the Hutchens-Venable Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 and at other times at the home of her Mrs. Hutchens son, Donald Hutchens, 165 Foxglove Lane, Mt. Airy.
