Mrs. Arlene Nichols Bingman, age 81 of Mt. Airy, passed into the peaceful presence of the Lord on Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Mrs. Bingman was born in Surry County on May 18, 1932 to Charlie Lee and Ethel Hawks Nichols. She was retired from Renfro Corp. after thirty one years of service and was a member of Mt. Airy Church of Christ. Through the struggles of mental illness, Mrs. Bingman had some difficult times but also many joyous and happy times. She will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother. Fond memories of both her parents will forever be cherished by devoted daughter, Annette B. Moore and fiancé David Bean and two very special friends, Jeanette Bullins and Gene Lowe. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bingman was preceded in death by her loving husband, Grady Bingman and adoring son-in-law, Randy Moore. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Skyline Memory Gardens by Chaplain Kevin Wilson. At Arlene's request, there will not be a formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice at 401 Technology Ln, Suite 200 Mt. Airy, NC 27030 or to the charity of the donor's choice. The family would like to express a special thank you to "Her Girls" at Twelve Oaks Memory Care Unit for the exceptional care and love given to Arlene.
