Mrs. Arvilly Lucille Vernon Conner

Mrs. Arvilly Lucille Vernon Conner, 87, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in McDowell County, WV on March 3, 1927 to the late Thomas Jefferson and Mattie May Florence Mitchell Vernon. Mrs. Conner was a homemaker and was a member of Franklin Heights United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jean Conner Parries and Steve of Mt. Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry Davis Conner and Lora of Ararat, NC; grandchildren and spouses, Sean Parries and Ronalda of Mt. Airy, Jonathan Wilson and Amber of Pilot Mountain, Zach Wilson and Renee of Westfield; six great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Doris Vernon and Lois Vernon both of Mt. Airy; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Conner was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Davis Conner; three brothers, Warren Vernon, Oliver Vernon, and Zeb Vernon. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Franklin Heights United Methodist Church with Pastor Ryan Mendenhall and the Rev. Dennis "Bud" Cameron officiating. Burial will follow Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 PM until time of the service at the church.
