Mrs. Bertie Inman Eldridge

Mrs. Bertie Mae Inman Eldridge, age 82 of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Twelve Oaks Retirement Center. Mrs. Eldridge was born in Surry County on May 31, 1932 to Wiley Vestal and Cora Mae Hooker Inman. She was retired from Dr. Max Hiatt and Dr. B. M. Sumner's dental office and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Mrs. Eldridge will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Sherry Eldridge of Wilmington, Rickey and Carmen Eldridge of Mt. Airy; Billy Eldridge of Albemarle and Tim and Jami Eldridge of Mt. Airy; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Lillian Willard of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eldridge was preceded in death by her first husband, Tommy Eldridge; her second husband, George Doby; brothers, Coolidge and Preston Inman; a half-sister, Annie Bell Bryant and half-brothers, Ernest, Leonard and Vestal Inman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 11, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Drew Hunsley. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mount Airy Rescue Squad at P.O. Box 1053, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
