Mrs. Bettie June Goad Hayes

Mrs. Bettie June Goad Hayes, 75, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at her daughters home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on June 15, 1942 to the late, Willie Goad and Fannie Mathis Goad Padgett. Mrs. Hayes was retired from Pine State Knitwear and was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Teddy Ray Hayes of the home; daughters, Kimla Rae Hayes of Mt. Airy, Brandi Nichole Williams of Delray Beach, FL; a son, Teddy Ray Hayes, Jr. of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Misty Dawn Hayes and husband Scott Haynes, Tray Hayes, and Max James Schmidt; great grandchildren, Bodhi Atom Hayes, and Haze Phillips; a sister, Judy Finney of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Davis; brothers, William Albert, and Billy Gray Goad; a brother-in-law, Bill Davis. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Midkiff Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
