Mrs. Betty C. Bash

Mrs. Betty C. Bash age 98, of Meadows of Dan, Virginia passed away at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows Nursing Home in Laurel Fork, VA on Thursday, June 19, 2014. She was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on May 7, 1916 to the late Claude Snyder and Matilda Steuer Snyder. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death her husband, Walter Snowden Bash Jr.; a son, Walter Snowden Bash III; an infant granddaughter, Christina Lister, a son-in-law, Lawrence Smiley; two sisters, Helen Simmons and Catharine Snyder and a brother-in-law, Fred Simmons.

Mrs. Bash is survived by two daughters, Carleen Lister & husband, Jerry of Meadows of Dan, Virginia and Helen C. Smiley of New Boston, Michigan; a son, Barry Bash & wife, Mary of Masaryktown, Florida; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and a sister, Kathleen Jones of Monroeville, Pennsylvania.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bash will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Meadows of Dan Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Shockley officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to the Vesta Rescue Squad, P.O. 911, Meadows of Dan, Virginia 24120 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
