Mrs. Betty Nunn East

Mrs. Betty Nunn East, age 74 of Claudville, VA passed away Tuesday September 22, 2015 at her home. She was born on October 20, 1940 in Patrick County to the late Walter Lee Nunn and Elsie Pack Nunn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Lee East, and four brothers, Floyd Nunn, James Nunn, Robert Nunn and Calvin Nunn. While attending Blue Ridge High School she was quite the basketball player. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend; she truly loved her family, birds, animals, flowers and making crafts, such as handmade flowers and dolls.
Surviving are her husband, James Fred East, Sr. of the home;two sons, Timmy Lee East of Varnville, SC and James Fred East Jr. and wife, Cookie of Morehead, NC; three grandsons, Michael Lee East, Thomas Herron, and Luis Herron; three great grandchildren, Giancarlo Herron, Giovani Herron and Mason Thomas; one sister, Bonnie Turner of Woolwine, VA; one brother, Roger Nunn of Stuart, VA, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. East will be held Friday September 25, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Moodys funeral home in Stuart with Pastor David Sechrist officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Locust Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the services at the funeral home.
