Mrs. Betty Ellen Creed Galyean

Mrs. Betty Ellen Creed Galyean, age 75, of Lowgap, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born October 30, 1942 to the late Estel Duncan and Mattie Hampton Ramey Creed. Mrs. Galyean was a retired cook from Eckerd Youth Alternative and a member of Charity Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory are daughters and sons-in-law; Marla and Craig Golding, Rhonda and Davie Simpson; a son and daughter-in-law, Mickey and Kim Galyean; grandchildren, Drema Lovill, Nicole Bass and husband Johnathan, Ethan Golding, Zach Forrest, Hannah Forrest, Bailey Galyean and Bella Galyean, seven great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita Snow; brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Shelvie Creed. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Galyean was preceded in death by her husband Cullen Galyean, a son, Timothy Galyean; a sister, Clyde Dryden; brothers Curtis Creed and Paul Thomas. A funeral service will be held at Roaring Gap Baptist Church in Lowgap at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 28, 2018 with services conducted by Rev. Joe Atkins. Burial will follow in the Galyean Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
