Mrs. Betty Alice Johnson Gentry

Mrs. Betty Alice Johnson Gentry, age 76, of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Gentry was born in Carroll County on May 30, 1938 to Roosevelt and Mary Emily Hall Johnson. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a devoted member of Oakridge Baptist Church. Surviving are daughters and a son-in-law, Susan Richardson and Sandra and Charlie Brown; sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Susie Worrell, Johnny Worrell, Mark and April Worrell and Curtis and Julie Gentry; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; sisters, Irene King; Willie Sue Shaner, Imogene Combs, Helen Hiatt, Myrtle Melton and Barbara Jarrell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernie and Mildred Johnson, Jack Combs, Clayton Combs and Lola Johnson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gentry was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Alton Gentry, Sr.; her step father, Dolphus Combs; brothers, Clyde Johnson and Bobby Combs; a son-in-law, William Richardson; and a great granddaughter, Kailynn Brown. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Oakridge Baptist Church by Rev. David Sechrist. The family will receive friends Saturday at Moody Funeral Home beginning at 9:30 AM.
