Mrs. Betty Sue Brooks Martin

Mrs. Betty Sue Brooks Martin age 70 of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Martin was born in Surry County on April 28, 1943 to General Harrison and Lillie Viola Whittington Brooks. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Those who will forever cherish her sweet memory are a daughter Melissa Blakely of Rural Hall; a son, Jeff Martin and fiancée Becky Ridenhour of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Kristian Blakely, Brittany Martin, Crue Martin, step grandchildren, Jerry Blakely and Julie Blakely and Chad Key. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph William Martin; a son, Sgt. Greg Martin; daughters, Tonya Sechrist and Anita Martin, a granddaughter, Jessica Martin and brothers, William Brooks and Edgar Brooks. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Skyline Memory Gardens by Rev. Louis Martin and Rev. James Odum. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home beginning at 9:30 Saturday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moody Funeral Home.
