Mrs. Betty Jane Coggin Owens

Mrs. Betty Jane Coggin Owens, 85, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, September 18, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. She was born in Anson County on September 1, 1930 to the late, Hiram and Hallett Taylor Coggin. Mrs. Owens was retired from Town and Country Realty and was a member of White Plains Friends Meeting. She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Melissa Angi and Jim, Elizabeth Owens; sons and daughter-in-law, John Owens, Jr. and Leigh, David Owens; five grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband, John Dallas Owens, Sr.; two sisters and four brothers. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery with the Rev. Jake Penley officiating. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to White Plains Friends Meeting, 859 Old Hwy 601, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy is serving the Owens family.
