Mrs. Beulah Clark Rice Owens

Mrs. Beulah Clark Rice Owens, age 97 of Stuart, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at Pioneer Community Hospital. She was born in Seven Mile Ford, Virginia on March 28, 1917 to the late Asheil Clark Rice and Lena Mary Alice Harris Rice. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Owens; a son, Foy Rice Owens; and two brothers, Charles Vernice Rice and Francis Marion Rice. She was a member of Stuart Baptist Church. After Mr. Owens' passing in 1966, Mrs. Owens became the sole owner and operator of Owen's Jewelry Store, which she operated until it was sold to Lemons Jewelry.

Mrs. Owens is survived by one son, Joseph Marvin Owens of Stuart; three grandchildren, Mark Owens and wife, Tara of Milton, Tennessee, Natalie Foreman and husband, Gary of Edenton, North Carolina, Rice Owens and wife, Kimberly of Superior, Colorado; six great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and a caregiver and friend, Darlene Mills of Stuart.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Stuart Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in Stuart Cemetery with Dan Owens, Ron Owens, Lamar Owens, Warren Rodgers, Sandy Rodgers and Steve Willard as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home.
