Mrs. Blanche C. Williams

Mrs. Blanche Cockram Williams, age 80 of Patrick Springs passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born on March 23, 1934 in Floyd, VA to the late Clifford and Florence Cochran Cockram. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Robert Williams; two brothers, Ray and George Cockram; a son-in-law, Marvin Aldridge; and a brother in law, Junior Shepherd. Blanche had been a payroll clerk for Martin Processing and Prillaman and Pace and was a secretary for Martinsville City Sheriff's Office. She sang on WMVA and WHEO radio as the Cockram Sisters for many years; and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Pam "Spanke" Williams of Patrick Springs, a step daughter, Betty Aldridge of Martinsville; one step son and daughter in law, Robert W. and June Williams of Ridgeway; a special daughter, Pam Hensley of Patrick Springs; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; two sisters and brothers in law, Faye and Bill Williams of Patrick Springs, Hallie and Pete Brown of Martinsville; and a special niece and nephew, Cindy and Kenny Robertson of Patrick Springs.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Karl Heltibridle, Pastor Ron Peal, and Pastor Delmas Rorrer officiating. Burial will follow in the Purdy Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home and at other times at the home of her sister, Faye Williams, 134 Anthony Dr. Patrick Springs.
