Mrs. Bonita Gail Hawks

Mrs. Bonita Gail Hawks, age 53 of Ararat, VA, went home to meet her Lord on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Hawks was born in Surry County on September 1, 1961 to Vergie Hall Hawks and the late Barnie Hawks. She was such a loving mother, a new grandmother, daughter and sister; she will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends. Bonita enjoyed quilting with the Surry Quilter's Guild where she made many loving friends. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and J. T. Hodges of Rocky Mount, VA; a new granddaughter, Reagan Gail Hodges; her mother, Vergie H. Hawks of Ararat; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ruth and Ricky King also of Ararat and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Westview Baptist Church by Rev. Darren Slate. Burial will follow in Willis Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
