Mrs. Bonnie Sue Chaney Hawks

Mrs. Bonnie Sue Chaney Hawks, 66, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Surry County on October 13, 1947 to the late Ray and Vestie Shelton Chaney. Mrs. Hawks was retired from Lynn Hosiery and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Hawks of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lisa Hawks, Ricky Hawks all of Mt. Airy; four grandchildren, Heather and Rocky Hawks, Savannah Hawks, Cameron Felts, Chayton Hawks; one great grandchild, Zakaya Hawks; a sister, Carol Wood of Mt. Airy; a brother, Danny Chaney of Dobson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hawks was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Chaney. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Spurlin officiating. Burial will follow in Chestnut Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
