Mrs. Carol Jean Edwards

Mrs. Carol Jean Edwards, 67, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.She was born in Surry County on December 25, 1947 to the late Willie Pless and Hilda Elizabeth Nixon Hodges. Mrs. Edwards retired from Surry County Schools and was of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Edwards of the home; a son, William Glenn Edwards; two grandchildren, Jordan and Brett Edwards all of Mt. Airy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Jimmy Sams of Beaver Dam, VA, Reeda and Keith Massey and Wilma and Dwain Galyean all of Mt. Airy; brother and sisters-in-law, Ward and Jean Hodges and Ruby Hodges all of Mt. Airy.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Hodges. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Mears officiating.Burial will follow in the Edwards Family Cemetery.
