Mrs. Carolyn Lynn Martin Atkins, age 57, of Dobson, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at her residence. She was born November 1, 1957 in Surry County to the late Charles Everett Martin Jr. and the late Audrey Jean Woods Martin. She previously worked in textiles as a seamstress and was a member of Blues Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Atkins is survived by her husband, Mr. Rocky Lane Atkins of the home. Daughters and son-in-law, Freedom Hope and Kerry Horton of Mount Airy , Sendee Martin Casstevens of Boonville and Michael Dozier of Winston Salem; a step-son Mitchell Lane; Grandchildren Bailey Hope Atkins, Joseph Casstevens, Hannah Casstevens, Lucas Casstevens, Camden Atkins and Levi Horton; Sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Chad Taylor of Mount Airy, Diane and Brian Rocco of State Road, Sandy and Gary McCormick of Rockford; Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Larry Martin of Mount Airy, Willie and Sandra Martin of Stoney Knoll, Bruce and Sandy Martin of Copeland; Brother-in law and spouse Harold Dean and Barbara Atkins of Mount Airy; Sister-in-law and spouse, Judy and Bruce Nations of Mount Airy;Special Aunts, Joe Martin And Jackie Holt; and a special friend, Michelle Ryan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Lane Atkins.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 15, 2015 from 3-5 PM at Blues Grove Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will follow at 5:00 PM at the church with Reverend Travis Seachrist, Reverend David Sparks and Brother Willie Martin officiating. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the family to help with final expenses ,to Rocky Atkins in care of First Citizens Bank, 217 North Main Street, Dobson, NC 27017
