Mrs. Casteen Hazel Pruitt Cox

Mrs. Casteen Hazel Pruitt Cox, 89 of Mt. Airy passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home Friday, December 20, 2013. She was born in Patrick County, VA on November 2, 1924 to the late Joshua and Nannie Kate Rogers Pruitt. Mrs. Cox was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Bannertown Baptist Church. Mrs. Cox is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Nan and Robin Atkins of Pilot Mountain, Gina Cox of Mt. Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Frankie Cox of Mt. Airy; four grandchildren, Jamie Cox, John Cox, Tiffany Poore and Josh Cox; seven great grandchildren, Ian, Brady, Reese, Holden and Eli Cox, Addison and Aiden Poore; and a sister, Margaret Smith of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, James Washington Cox; and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with Ben Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
