Mrs. Daisy Anna Belle Scott

Mrs. Daisy Anna Belle Callahan Scott, 101 of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in the Skilled Care Unit of Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born on July 10, 1911 in Surry County to the late Benjamin Franklin and Lucy Holyfield Callahan. Mrs. Scott was a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mt. Airy and was a retired sales associate. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William "Bill" and Jackie Scott and Larry B. and Lou Scott all of Mt. Airy; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren and a sister, Ernestine C. Vanopstal of Asheboro. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Early Reid Scott; two daughters, Imogene Owens and Barbara Hicks; a son, Charlie Scott; a granddaughter, Pamela Elwood; and two grandsons, Charles Jeffery Scott and Scotty Owens; three sisters, Cassie McQuinn, Pansy Flynn and an infant sister, Hilda Callahan; three brothers. Ben Callahan, Jr., Joe B. Callahan and James Kelly Callahan, Sr.. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Benfield officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy where her body will remain until the time to be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
