Mrs. Dora Marie Wright Sykes

Mrs. Dora Marie Wright Sykes, age 72, of Dobson, NC passed away on Wednesday August 17, 2016 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born in Grayson Co. VA on March 27, 1944 to the late Perry and Maude Holder Wright. She was retired from Tultex, and a member of East Side Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Allen Sykes; two sisters Betty Lou Moore, Sena Hawks; two brothers Clinton Wright, TG Wright. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Annette Sykes of Hays, and Christopher and Sandra Sykes, of Dobson: grandchildren Adam Dalton, Jacob Sykes, Noelle Sykes, Brandon Sykes, and Ryan Dalton; sisters Mary Sue Smith, of Lowgap, and Amelda Privette, of Galax, VA; brother and sister-in-law Mack and Betty Wright, of Lowgap. Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, with Brother Dan Buie conducting. Burial will follow in Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of her service at 11:00 AM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Sykes Family.
