Mrs. Doris Mae Beamer Gwyn

Mrs. Doris Mae Beamer Gwyn, age 87 of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Gwyn was born in Surry County on August 5, 1927 to Nellie Beamer. She was retired from Aladdin's Lamp of Mt. Airy. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Deborah Gwyn of Plantation, FL, Rodney and Nancy Gwyn of Albuquerque, NM; Ken and Kim Gwyn of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren, Matthew Gwyn, Taylor Gwyn, Jordan Gwyn, Christina Gwyn, Cynthia Gwyn, Renee Gwyn, and Sherry G. Haworth and spouse, Shannon; one great granddaughter, Skye Haworth; two great grandsons, Mikey Spiwak and Matthew Spiwak; one step granddaughter, Beth Zyglis; and one great-great grandchild, Miya Spiwak. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Gwyn was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Gwyn and two sisters, Grace Beamer and Mary Beamer. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Skyline Memory Gardens with the service conducted by family members. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
