Mrs. Dorothy Hubbard Chilton

Mrs. Dorothy Hubbard Chilton, age 85 of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Chilton was born in Patrick County on October 19, 1929 to Albert and Millie Hatcher Hubbard. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Chris Miller, Annette Kelly; sons and daughters-in-law, Danny Chilton, Delmer and Deborah Chilton and Tony and Terrie Chilton; grandchildren and spouses, Renee Rorrer, Jennifer Miller, Chris Chilton and Jackie, Andrew Chilton and Katie, David Chilton and Joseph Chilton, step grandchildren and spouses, Sherri Miller - Kell and John, Theresa Miller Marion and Bill; great grandchildren, Devan Wellin and Corey Rorrer, Bennett Chilton and Paxton Chilton; five step great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chilton was preceded in death by her husband, Gaston Lowell Chilton; nine brothers and sisters, May Hubbard Lupton, George Hubbard, Ralph Hubbard, Ruth Hubbard Hill, Bertie Hubbard, Pearl Hubbard Tilton, Murry Hubbard, Frank Hubbard and John Hubbard. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Unity Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be made in memory of Mrs. Dorothy Chilton to Hatcher's Chapel United Methodist Church, 268 Hatcher's Chapel Rd., Claudville, VA 24076 or Unity Cemetery Fund, C/o Patricia Anderson, 358 Mears Rd., Claudville, VA 24076.
