Mrs. Elaine Koger Goard

Mrs. Elaine Koger Goard, age 89 of Patrick Springs, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Henry County on June 7, 1924 to the late Eulas Lee and Annie Mae Via Koger. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goard was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee Goard; and a sister, Elner Joyce. She was a member of Community Primitive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Goard is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda and Henry Ayers of Stuart and Sandra Blanchfield of Charlotte, North Carolina; one son and daughter-in-law, Danny R. and Barbara Goard of Patrick Springs; five grandchildren, Bradley G. Ayers, Brent C. Ayers, Brian A. Blanchfield, Brad Clontz and Craig Clontz; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Madeline Shively of Bassett.
Funeral services for Mrs. Goard will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Lewis Vass and Elder Donnie Conner officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and at other times at the home.
