Mrs. Eldean Dehart Adkins

Mrs. Eldean DeHart Adkins, age 91 of Patrick Springs, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in Stuart. She was born on March 5, 1921 to the late William and Martha Ann Martin Bullins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adkins was preceded in death by her first husband, Elijah A. DeHart; her second husband, Doc Benford Adkins; two sons, Elijah Aaron DeHart, Jr. and Charles Timothy DeHart; six brothers, Dee, Robert, John, Andy, Robey and Sam Bullins; and two sisters, Marie Bullins and Birdie Shaw. She was retired from Pannill's Knitting Company, enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing, and loved her many cats.
Mrs. Adkins is survived by seven children, Thomas Aaron DeHart and wife, Dean, of Stuart, Lilla Jean Zimmerman and husband, Alfred, of Richmond, Frankie Leon DeHart of Patrick Springs, Lois Etta Blake and husband, Bill, of Woolwine, Ella Dean Pack and husband, Tommy, of Stuart, Ellis Lee DeHart and wife, Virginia of Sandy Ridge, North Carolina and Phyllis Ann Hutson and husband, Ricky, of Stuart; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Jean Privet of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a daughter-in-law, Bonnie DeHart of Stuart.
Funeral services for Mrs. Adkins will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Donnie Conner officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until time of the service at the funeral home.
