Mrs. Ella Launa Marion White

Mrs. Ella Launa Marion White, age 87, of Ararat, NC entered the portals of Heaven on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on October 23, 1927 to the late Alford Jerry and Mittie Cave Marion. Her life was spent in service for her Lord and she instilled her Christian values on to her family. Her devotion to her family was apparent to all. She was retired from Adams Millis Hosiery and was the oldest charter member of Welcome View Baptist Church. Survivors include her loving children, Jimmy R. White of Mount Airy, Nancy and husband Dennis Hutchens, Dale and wife Robin White, the Rev. Tony White and wife Reba, and Sue White, all of Dobson; twelve beloved grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and one the way, due December 30th, 2015; a sister, Helen Holt of Mount Airy; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Marion of Dobson and Shelby Childress of Thurmond; a brother-in-law, Robert White of Siloam; several nieces, nephews and friends and her church family. In addition to her parents, her beloved husband, Arvil White; two brothers, Roy Marion and J. C. Marion and a sister, Edna White preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Welcome View Baptist Church by the Rev. Tony White, The Rev. Barry O’Neal and the Rev. Tommy Shelton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm on Tuesday at Moody-Davis Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Rev. Tony White. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Welcome View Baptist Church 418 Welcome View Church Road Dobson, NC 27017.
