Mrs. Ethel “Marie” Dobbins Eaton, age 85 of Dobson passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Yadkin County on June 19, 1930 to the late Wesley and Carrie Gentry Dobbins. Mrs. Eaton was a Godley lady having spent her life in service to her Lord and her beloved family. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 67 years, Early James Eaton, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Carl Riehs of Dothan, Alabama; a son and daughter-in-law, The Rev. Samuel Edmond and Martha Staton Eaton of Winston-Salem; four beloved grandchildren, James Eaton, Jason Eaton, Alicia Downey and Brandon Riehs; a sister, Barbara Adams, of Pfafftown. In addition to her parents, her son, Donald Gray Eaton, two sisters, Mary Kennedy and Doris Lowe; and three brothers Charles Dobbins, John Dobbins and Junior Dobbins preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 4 pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by Brother Barlow Stanley and the Rev. Sam Eaton. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, and other times at her home. Special thanks for every prayer and every act of kindness shown during the difficult time.
