Mrs. Ethel Lee Adams King

Mrs. Ethel Lee Adams King, 84 of Mt. Airy passed away at her home Tuesday, September 16, 2014. She was born in Grayson County, VA on December 24, 1929 to the late Emmitt James and Grace Mae Murphy Adams. Mrs. King retired from Perry Manufacturing and Surry Friends of Seniors. She faithfully attended Holy Cross Baptist church and was a long time member of Albion Baptist Church in Westfield. Mrs. King is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Gerald Hawks and Donna and Tony Ayers all of Mt. Airy; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary "Buck" Wood and Tony and Teresa Wood all of Mt. Airy; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Morton of Lowgap and a brother and sister-in-law, Emmitt Avon and Margie Adams of Winston Salem. In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Frank King. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Albion Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Easter, Rev. Butch Holder, Rev. Keith Love and Rev. J.K. Faries officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Albion Baptist Church on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service and at other times at the home of her daughter, Linda, 239 Sherry Dr., Mt.
