Mrs. Etta Payne Adams Calloway

Mrs. Etta Payne Adams Calloway, 75 of Lewisville, and part-time residence of Lambsburg, VA passed away Tuesday February 11, 2014 at her home in Lambsburg. Mrs. Calloway was born March 8, 1938 in Carroll County, VA to the late Sanders and Maude Helmstutler Payne. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Lewisville, also attending Paul's Creek Baptist Church in Cana, VA. Mrs. Calloway retired from the Oaks at Forsyth. She is survived by her special "Fur Baby", Mia and her husband, James Calloway of the home; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ellie Anderson and Larry Watson, Effie Lawrence and John all of Winston Salem, NC; special nieces, Judy Brown and Lisa Dawn Payne Smith and a special nephew, Jeffrey Cook and a host of other nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Calloway was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Rogers and Edith Horton and one brother, Edgar Payne. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy. Burial will follow in the Flower Gap Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
