Mrs. Eva Alverdie Tickle Bobbitt

Mrs. Eva Alverdie Tickle Bobbitt, 91 of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Surry County on January 23, 1923 to the late Norman Luther and Mary Lou Wall Tickle. Mrs. Bobbitt was retired from Renfro Hosiery. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Richard Owen of Mt. Airy, Barbara Nell and Jesse Sams of Siloam; grandchildren, Cannon Sams, Kristy Evans, Bardee Crappel and Patrick Owen; four great grandchildren; one step great grandchild; a sister, Samantha Phillips of Sanford; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Gladys Tickle of Sumter, SC; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mrs. Bobbitt was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick W. Bobbitt; a son, Donald Pat Bobbitt; four sisters, Effie Felts, Bertha Carter, Belva Jackson, Lillie Humphreys; four brothers, Floyd Tickle, Roger Tickle, Fred Tickle and Roy Johnson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Sawyers officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
