Mrs. Fay Katherine Hawks Lowe

Mrs. Fay Katherine Hawks Lowe, age 84 of Lowgap, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Lowe was born in Surry County on September 18, 1929 to Garnie and Jessie Calloway Hawks. She was a dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Christine Lowe of Lowgap and Robert and Carol Lowe of Galax, VA; three granddaughters, Amanda and John Millner, Jennifer and Kevin Lowe and Lisa Wilkerson; great grandchildren, Emily Wilkerson, Blake Millner, Abby Millner, Savannah Lowe, Justin Lowe, Jacob Lowe and Colt Millner due in March; several nieces and nephews; a special niece, Janie Sechrist; and a special friend, Ada Lee. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lowe was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Atwood Lowe; a son, Ted Lowe; four brothers, Rex, Billy Gray, Paul and Ray Hawks. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 31, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Spurlin. Burial will follow in Fisher Gap Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
