Mrs. Frances Marie Bowman Payne

Mrs. Frances Marie Bowman Payne, 72, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at her home. She was born in Surry County on March 15, 1946 to the late, William Hobert and Ruth Niten Bowman. Mrs. Payne was retired from Sara Lee after 35 years of service. Frances was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and great aunt who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Junior Payne of the home; a special great niece, Stacey Boles and husband Dewayne of Lambsburg, VA; great great niece and nephew, Mason Nichols and Callie Nichols; many other nieces and nephews; sisters and brother-in-law, Beatrice and Claude Miles, Jean Horton, Evelyn Donathan all of Mt. Airy, Earline Smoak of Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Dolly Bowman of Florida, Ralph and Karen Bowman of Pilot Mountain, Benny Bowman, Glen Bowman both of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by three brothers, Early, Harry, Joe, and Charles Bowman; a nephew, Harry Wade Bowman, Jr. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home with the Rev. Rickey Martin, and Rev. Jeff Wall officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
